extreme makeover

So yesterday me and mom went down to the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition build site. Everyone is required to park offsite and be shuttled in at the houston rodeo stockyards. So we drive nearly an hour to get there and the girl in charge is like "Oh spectators can't come until tomorrow." And we're like...are you kidding me? Then another girl walked up and was like "No they can go, they just have to fill out a release form." So we went and there ended up only being like 10-15 spectators! We were so close to the action and we were shocked to see the house wasn't even torn down yet! So we got there an hour before it was supposed to be torn down.

Problem was, they decided for this episode that they wanted it to be more lighthearted so they flew in 3 comedians and had this plan to "roast" the house before it was torn down. All the designers dressed up in awful 70s clothes in the houston humidity and they basically spent 2 hours redoing this whole roasting thing and we watched. We could barely hear the comedians because of all the machines in the background clearing out land but it went on far too long. They ended up tearing the house down about an hour and a half behind schedule. It was fun to see that! We had all been sweating bullets and it was a nice reward. We all left promptly afterwards.

Highlights of the experience: seeing TY PENNINGTON and all the designers and getting to see how a reality show is not so realistic. We are planning to go back and volunteer on friday so that should be exciting, they'll be putting the final touches on. Hopefully we'll get to go to the reveal on saturday but I work until 4:00 so who knows.
